UN Centre for anti-terrorism in visit to Sarajevo International Airport

At Sarajevo International Airport, on Tuesday (07.03.), was hold a meeting whose topic was anti-terrorism.
The meeting with UN experts in the field of „Advanced Passenger Information" was attended by representatives of Sarajevo International Airport, Border Police BiH and Administration for indirect taxation BiH.
Purpose of the UN team's visit was to hold consultations with all relevant agencies and institutions in BiH regarding improvement of use of passenger information system during regular procedures of performing border control and other ways of security surveillance aimed at prevention of access to persons suspected of terrorist activities who could in any way endanger security of the country.
During the visit the team was informed about airport procedures related to processing of passengers on international flights in arrival, about IT infrastructure capacities, and representatives of the airlines having operations at Sarajevo International Airport.
The above mentioned activities are aimed at implementation of the international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially including the UN Security Council's Resolution 2178, ICAO standards (International Civil Aviation Organization), and INTERPOL standards related to introduction of automatic cross-verification of passenger information.
